Expresso Transatlântico announces new album and shows in 2026
Expresso Transatlântico reveals news for 2026: the release of its second album and special presentation shows in Porto and Lisbon. “Flor Trovão” is the first single that paves the way for a new artistic phase of this journey.
It is one of the most acclaimed new groups in national music. Expresso Transatlântico showed itself to the world in 2021 with the self-titled EP and, in 2023, released the debut album “Ressaca Bailada” – considered by the main national media as one of the “Best Albums of the Year” – which took the band to the main stages and festivals nationally and abroad, in many dozens of shows.
Sebastião Varela, Gaspar Varela and Rafael Matos now announce the release of their long-awaited second album of new songs for early 2026, which will be presented live in two special shows:
– Porto – Casa da Música – March 13, 2026
– Lisbon – Capitólio – March 14, 2026

“FLOR TROVÃO” AND THE NEW ALBUM
Produced by Paulo Furtado (aka The Legendary Tigerman), this new album promises to mark a turning point in the musical trajectory of Expresso Transatlântico.
The first release from this album is “Flor Trovão”, a single already available on digital platforms. Composed between Serra da Estrela, Foz do Arelho and Brotas, it is a song that absorbs the strength, freedom and intimacy of these settings.
Without losing its soul and the fusion of sounds that characterise it, Expresso Transatlântico explores new ways of reinventing itself and “Flor Trovão” paves the way for a new artistic phase of its journey.
The music video that illustrates the new single is, once again, directed by Sebastião Varela and features actors Vicente Gil, Catarina Rabaça, Salvador Gil and Vasco Dias. Filmed in minidv format, it is an imagery record in the same satirical and light tone that predominates in the song.
