With the return of Formula 1® to Portugal, Heineken® beer, the main sponsor of the Grand Prix of Portugal 2020, which will take place at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve, between 23 and 25 October, asked David Coulthard to drive the so desired official trophy to our country.
A symbolic return for the legendary driver, Ambassador Heineken® for Formula 1, who won in Estoril in 1995, with Williams-Renault colors, the first Formula 1 Grand Prix of his career.
Upon arrival in Lisbon, David Coulthard, used to the great international tracks, had no doubts in choosing the typical Carris tram as the ideal means of transport to deliver the trophy at SUD Lisbon, where Heineken® celebrated this Monday the return of the biggest world motoring party, 24 years after the last race held in national territory, at the Fernanda Pires da Silva Autodrome – Estoril Circuit.
The emblematic Pedro Lamy, the first Portuguese to register a point in the Formula 1 World Championship (Australian Grand Prix), and João Carlos Costa, an experienced journalist specialized in the field of motorsport and already a known voice for motor sport lovers, were two of the main personalities in the area to be present in this ‘starting grid’ promoted by Heineken® beer.
On the social side, presenter Ruben Rua, as well as actors José Mata and Bárbara Lourenço, did not miss the call, as ambassadors for Heineken® beer, at an event in which actor Ricardo Pereira and his wife, Francisca Pereira, were also enthusiastic. with the warm-up for the race.
The highlight of the night was in the hands of David Coulthard, who presented the long-awaited official trophy to all present, thus giving the starting signal for FORMULA 1 HEINEKEN GRAND PRIZE OF PORTUGAL 2020.
