Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University debates European tax news

The Lisbon School of the Faculty of Law of the Catholic University of Portugal intends to open space for the debate on the main themes of European tax news with the holding of the Catholic Tax Fast Forward Webinars, a set of three online seminars that will start on the 18th June.

  • The Catholic Tax Fast Forward Webinars consist of a set of three webinars where European taxation topics will be discussed, namely the tax on financial transactions, the revision of the European directive on energy taxation and the tax on digital services;
  • The sessions will take place on June 18, June 25 and July 2.

These sessions will count with the participation of national and international experts, who will outline perspectives on key points on the European Union’s tax agenda, namely on the tax on financial transactions, the revision of the European directive on energy taxation and the tax on services digital. A webinar will be dedicated to each of the themes, with the dates scheduled for June 18, June 25 and July 2, respectively.

According to Sérgio Vasques, Professor at the Faculty of Law of the Portuguese Catholic University in the area of ​​Tax Law, “these seminars have the main purpose of looking at fundamental topics of the current European tax agenda, which will be on the table during the Portuguese presidency next year. It is important that all stakeholders in Portugal follow the discussion and understand the scope that these proposals have, for the state, families and companies ”.
