Catarina Rocha found in fado a naked truth in words.
He started singing Fado in 2012 and has performed in shows all over the country. In 2016, he recorded his first record work.
Produced by Diogo Clemente, his debut album “Luz” featured the participation of renowned musicians in Fado, such as Marino de Freitas, Vicky Marques, Valter Rolo and Guilherme Banza.
Recently, the fado singer released the second single – Moeda de Troca (with video clip), written by Tiago Torres da Silva and with music by Manuel Graça Pereira, which has been a success, and the public has loved both music and expressiveness and the voice of the fado singer.
André Vaz’s first contact with fado was through fado-loving family and friends.
In 1993, at the Coliseu dos Recreios, at just 9 years old, he won the “Grande Noite do Fado”. He made several record editions and entered musicals.
André Vaz works in the most renowned Fado houses in Lisbon. Your new album aims to recover part of the artistic and cultural history of Fado, maintaining poetry and giving it a contemporary sound
Fado nights in Lounge D continue with Maria Vicente and João Guiomar on the 18th, and Maria da Nazaré and António Passão on the 25th of March.
