The fado nights continue next Wednesday, July 26th, from 10 pm, with two new protagonists. Diana Soares and André Gomes are two young talents making their debut on the Lounge D stage. Admission is free.
Born in Vila de Corroios, in the municipality of Seixal, Diana Soares began to sing from a very early age, albeit uncompromisingly and with the support of family members at various events. She stood out in fado, performing the first part of Mariza’s concert at Festas de Corroios in 2018, among many other shows that earned her warm reviews from the press and the general public. Diana Soares has a unique voice that warms the audience and reveals the immensity of her soul and heart. Her gaze and timbre allow the viewer to feel the deepest fado has to offer.
Born in Dona Maria, a village in the municipality of Sintra, André Gomes showed an interest in music very early on. By intuition, he began to imitate fado singers he saw on television. In November 2018, he was elected “Voz Revelação do Ano-masculino”, by A Voz do Operário, the 2nd Fado Gala, in partnership with Música Unida. He has already starred in several performances in emblematic spaces, such as the Teatro Ibérico, Museu do Fado, Convento do Beato, Coliseu dos Recreios, Centro Cultural Olga Cadaval, Balconies of Armazéns do Chiado, Salão Nobre d’A Voz do Operário and Auditorio da Culturgest.
With an intimate record, the fado singers Diana Soares and André Gomes will be accompanied by Pedro Ferreira on the Portuguese guitar and Tiago Valentim on the viola.
