‘Fantasia’ Cycle at Casa da Música between Tuesday and September 29

The show ‘Para Lá da Fantasia’, which brings together the pianists Pedro Burmester and Jonathan Ayerst, with musical direction by Peter Rundel, inaugurates the “Fantasia” series on Tuesday at the Casa da Música in Oporto.

Until September 29, there will be five concerts of a cycle “that is assumed as a compliment of creativity throughout the history of Music,” according to information made available on the Casa da Música ‘website.

On Tuesday, at 7:30 pm, the Remix Ensemble joins Pedro Burmester and Jonathan Ayerst, in a concert that includes works by Anderson, Bach, Moreira, Beethoven, Kurtág, in addition to the world premiere of the play “Beethoven quasi una fantasia “, by Daniel Moreira.

On September 22, at 6:00 p.m., the Porto Symphony Orchestra performs under the musical direction of Brad Lubman, playing works by Schöllhorn and Julian Anderson, in particular the Berlioz Fantastic Symphony.

In this show will be presented, world premiere, a work by Johannes Schöllhorn, “built on a Fantasia de Bach”.

Before the concert, at 5:15 pm, there will be a talk by programmer Rui Pereira.

The next day, at 18:00, Coro Casa da Música will, under musical direction by Paul Hillier, perform works by Gabrieli, Gesualdo, Ockeghem, Ligeti and Ortiz.
