On the day they announce the pre-sale of their first album in vinyl format, Marquise releases another single from “Ela Caiu”. After “Passado“, the choice fell to “Fauno”.
The bass commands life between desires (and) madness for the land of fauns, the same one visited by the Quarteto 1111 in 1967. There, the pastoral deliriums of Cesário Verde and Alberto Caeiro resurrect Ian Curtis an octave higher, to sprinkle fields and forests with Western feelings of the 21st century – a heavy fatalism of hammered toms, but also ethereal like Kate Bush, romantic like the Smiths, raw like Faith No More, rural like a cabin, urban-like Marquise, (Daniel Catarino). The pre-sale of the vinyl of “Ela caiu” entitles you to free shipping (valid only in Portugal) or a ticket to the show in Porto or the show in Lisbon.
Marquise is a band born in Porto. Mafalda Matos (vocals), Miguel Azevedo (bass), Matias Ferreira (drums) and Miguel Pereira (guitar) created the project in 2022, releasing in March 2023 the self-titled debut EP that quickly consolidated the band in the Portuguese music scene. After more than a year of shows, Marquise is preparing to release its new and first full album, Ela Caiu, at the end of this month, with a tour of shows throughout 2025.
