The FAZUNCHAR Festival – “Where Art Makes The Party” is back in Figueiró dos Vinhos and starts already on Saturday, August 15th
Figueiró dos Vinhos once again hosts the festival that brings together various arts from painting, drawing, music, and much more, in a constant dialogue between them, the community and the territory.
After a successful first edition, which generated 47 new works of art and hundreds of visitors, FAZUNCHAR returns to Figueiro’s lands, from August 15 to 23, 2020, for its 2nd edition, with an enormous desire to transmit and preserve the cultural corpus of their collective entity.
In 2020, it became even more urgent to guarantee accessibility to art, which is also why MISTAKER MAKER – Artistic Intervention Platform – again takes on the organization and curatorship of a new edition that, in the words of Lara Seixo Rodrigues, “it will reinforce its presence and occupation of public space, understood as the most democratic stage to expose unique and renewed views on cultural goods, heritage and everything that makes up this territory“.
In this sense, this year’s Urban Art Festival is once again integrating various artistic expressions, in a constant dialogue between them, with the community and territory, and one of the great news is that in this edition there will be interventions in three new parishes, in addition to Figueiró dos Vinhos, making art reach new locations in the same municipality.
Interventions and activities include mural paintings, artistic residences, artistic installations, concerts, films, community actions, guided tours and workshops, all with free access.
Among the guests of the 2020 edition, there are the names of some of the most promising artists on the international scene, such as the British Helen Bur. Many Portuguese artists are also part of the 2020 program, such as Tamara Alves, Adamastor, Mantraste, among others.
In music and artistic residencies, one of the highlights is the participation of Surma, an artist from Leiria and one of the biggest names in emerging music in Portugal, who will be accompanied by Tamara Alves, in the artistic residency, and, together, will work inspired by the concept and FAZUNCHAR dynamics.
In addition to the execution of murals, this 2nd edition of FAZUNCHAR presents a diversified program that aims to complement and enhance the link between the public, the works and the participating artists.
FAZUNCHAR, the Urban Art Festival in Figueiró dos Vinhos, promises to surprise again in 2020, and given the pandemic context of the disease COVID-19 that is being lived, it will be carried out respecting all the sanitary norms according to the indications of the official entities, DGS and the Portuguese Government, so that we can all enjoy the art that we breathe and breathe in our municipality.
