FC Porto beats Chelsea but is eliminated from the Champions League (1-0)
FC Porto missed this Tuesday what would be their seventh semi-final appearance in a European club competition, despite the 1-0 triumph over Chelsea in the 2020/21 Champions’ quarters.
After the 2-0 defeat in the first leg, in a tie played in Seville, the Portuguese team needed an unprecedented recovery in Europe, but they only managed one goal, in a spectacular kick by the Iranian Taremi, already in the 90+4 minutes.
The dragons thus continue with six appearances in the semi-finals, three in the main competition (1986/87, 1993/94, and 2003/04), one in the Cup Winners’ Cup (1983/84), one in the UEFA Cup (2002/03) and another in the Europa League (2010/11).
