FC Porto beats Portimonense

Needing to win, or at least draw, to reach the provisional leadership of the championship, the Porto players presented a poor performance against a theoretically easier opponent, and it was necessary for the Brazilian to go up on the ground to resolve the situation.

Coming from the defeat in the Europa League against the Germans of Bayer Leverkusen [defeat 2-1], FC Porto wanted to give a quick response, entering the challenge with a very offensive posture, but had little inspiration in the final definition, abusing inconsequential crosses to the contrary area.

On the other side, the blues and whites found an opponent who, despite the countless difficulties he faces in the national championship, was cohesive to defend, but was not as quick-witted when going out for the counterattack

The lack of inspiration of the northerners in the attack contrasted with the good performance at the defensive level of Portimonense, who when he committed failures at this level were not taken advantage of by the Porto players.

After so much insistence and failures when finishing, Alex Telles appears as a savior with a missile from outside the area that brought down the wall built by the Algarve and guided the Porto players to the much desired leadership.
