FC Porto wins against Young Boys in Porto
The Dragons won the Swiss squad on matchday one of Group G of the Europa League. In a more controlling, dominating and more effective first half, FC Porto experienced some difficulties in the second half but managed to secure the three points.
FC Porto beat Young Boys on Thursday in the inaugural Europa League matchday. The blues and whites received the Swiss formation at Dragão and won 2-1 in a two-part game in which Soares was the brightest.
In the first half, Sérgio Conceição’s team came in like themselves, keen, pressing, fighting for each ball as if it were the last. He commanded the game and at 8 minutes already won 1-0. Young Boys responded best to the agreed goal. Through a quick counter-attack, Assalé was taken down by Marchesín and managed to earn a penalty that Nsame hit expertly.
Before the half-hour of play, Soares’s new goal, after Corona’s 2-1 assist for FC Porto. Invicta’s team went to halftime to win, but the second half was completely different. The Young Boys tried to counteract the superiority of Porto, always with a very direct, vertical and fast football, but only on one occasion has truly put Marchesín to the test.
FC Porto managed to hold the result, was trying to control the midfield and the three points were even in the Dragon.
