The Feira da Serra in São Brás de Alportel, held from July 24th to 27th, was chosen by international artist Oliver Sean to present to the public, for the first time, the music video for his new single, a version of the classic song “Stand by Me,” featuring the talented young women who make up the Feira da Serra Jovem Band.
The music video screening took place on the last day of the event, with a special appearance by the Banda Jovem Portugal.
Oliver Sean, a musician with an internationally recognised career, a regular presence on the Billboard charts, and nominations for awards such as the MTV Europe Music Awards, surprised attendees with a performance featuring young performers from São Paulo. This collaboration reflects the artist’s commitment to nurturing emerging talent, having personally selected the young people involved in the project.
The Banda Jovem da Feira da Serra, a project launched in 2023, is part of a group of young vocalists who actively participated in the recording of the new track and its accompanying music video, contributing vocal arrangements that complement Oliver Sean’s performance. Laura Bandeira, Isabella Robinson, Matilde Serra, Mariana Inácio, Maria Lourenço, Matilde Spinola, Inês, and Carolina Ginja are the young women who had the opportunity to collaborate on this version.
Wanda Alvares, marketing director of WOA Entertainment Group, the entity responsible for the production, highlighted the importance of the moment: “This release represents a crossover of generations, where Oliver Sean’s experience and international recognition meet the emerging talent of young Portuguese artists.”
After the live performance at the Feira da Serra in São Brás de Alportel 2025, the music video was made available as a pre-release on Oliver Sean’s official YouTube channel, allowing access to an international audience. The single is also scheduled to be released in audio format on major digital platforms, including alternative versions that aim to encourage active listener participation, particularly through instrumental versions.
It’s important to remember that, at the 2024 edition of the Feira da Serra Festival, Oliver Sean sponsored and supported the young participants in the A Banda da Feira da Serra project. This collaboration sparked the desire to create new artistic moments. The recording of this single and the production of the accompanying music video constitute a continuation of this collaborative effort.
