From the 9th to the 12th of June, Alhos Vedros will once again host the Medieval Fair, promoted by ALIUSVETUS – Associação Cultural História e Património, with the aim of promoting the Commemorations of the 500th Anniversary of the attribution of the Charter to Alhos Vedros by D. Manuel I, which took place in 2014. This year’s edition has as its theme the reign of D. João I, the Ínclita Geração, and the year 1422.
As in previous editions, thousands of people are expected to visit, attracted by the exoticism of the recreation of a Medieval Fair installed in Largo da Igreja, Largo da Festa, Parque das Salinas, Largo da Misericórdia and Rua 5 de Outubro. On June 11th and 12th, more than 100 artists will be on stage.
The entertainment program includes weapons tournaments, parades, stage shows, circus entertainment, music, medieval and oriental dances, birds of prey and snakes, taverns, national and oriental handicrafts, and lots of conviviality.
This initiative has the support of the Municipality of Moita, Alhos Vedros Parish Council, S. Lourenço de Alhos Vedros Parish, CNE Group 688, GNR, Intermarché, Local Commerce and Industry.
