Félix da Costa takes the podium in the second race of the season

The race, which ended ahead of schedule due to an accident that gave rise to the red flag, was won by Briton Sam Bird of Jaguar.

After 11th place in the first e-Prix of the season, António Félix da Costa achieved a much better result this Saturday in the second race of the double journey in Riyadh. The Portuguese, who started from 9th position, ran backwards and managed to finish in third place.

Robin Frijns, who had secured pole position for this event, finished second and António Félix da Costa closed the podium places, after a penalty applied to Jean-Éric Vergne. The Frenchman ended up with 12th place, after finishing the race in third place.

With regard to António Félix da Costa’s race, the Portuguese man barely started looking for the top places. He and team-mate Vergne immediately started coming out as candidates for the podium and went up, one and the other, up positions.

At a certain point, spirits warmed up between them and they even touched at a time when they were fighting for the third position of the race.

In the end, when the race still promised a lot of emotion, it had to be stopped due to several dropouts. Buemi, Guenther, Mitch Evans collided and, after the safety car entered the track, the red flag was raised that ended this Diriyah e-Prix.
