Com os Delfins, primeiro, com a Resistência, depois, e ainda com os Ar de Rock With the Delfins, first, with the Resistance, later, and even with Ar de Rock, he showed himself to be a team player, integrating collectives that achieved fair success, prominent places in history, and the applause of thousands and thousands that followed them from north to south of the country and beyond borders. To all these achievements, the guitarist, producer, composer, and singer adds a solo career that now reaches the serious mark of 25 years of extension.
After the recent release of – A Linha do Tempo – Ao Vivo em Lisboa – recorded live in concert at Teatro Maria Matos on April 13, 2022, it now announces the celebration of this quarter of a century of songs with its participation in the Festival O Sol da Caparica on the 17th of August, when he will be accompanied as usual by his band, which includes João Gomes (synthesizers and backing vocals), João Alves (12-string electric guitar, electric guitar, and backing vocals), Philippe Keil (bass) and Francisco Cunha (drums) and João Campos (vocals and acoustic guitar).
And like any celebration, in this concert at the Sol da Caparica Festival, Cunha invites great friends to join some of the most emblematic songs of his career and of the national pop-rock songbook: Diogo Campos, singer of Ar de Rock and Legal Evidence; Maria Leon, singer of Ravel, Ar de Rock, and Chameleon Collective; Paulo Costa, singer of Ritual Tejo and Ar de Rock, Rui Pregal da Cunha, singer of Heróis do Mar and LX90, Olavo Bilac, singer of Santos, Pecadores, and Resistência. Pedro Joia, guitarist of the Resistance. João Pedro Pimenta, pianist, and producer of Sitiados.
The line-up for this special concert will be a selection of the best themes from his solo albums and even great hits from his career with Delfins, Resistência, and Ar de Rock that Fernando Cunha wrote alone or in happy collaborations with Maria León, Joana Alegre, Miguel Ângelo, João Gomes, Boss Ac, António Silvestre, and Pedro Ayres Magalhães.
Because these are, in fact, songs that grow when sung together: Fernando Cunha always said that he composed them so that the songs would follow their own path. And A Linha do Tempo is proof that the themes he wrote or helped to write have this ability to gain new lives.
