The president of the Assembly of the Republic will visit the People’s Republic of China on an official visit on November 19 and 20, less than a month before the visit to Portugal of Chinese leader Xi Jinping.
The high point of this visit will be the meeting with the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, Li Zhanshu, which will take place on November 19 in Beijing.
The visit of the President of the Assembly of the Republic comes from an invitation from his counterpart, returning the visit to Portugal of the president of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China, held in July 2017.
Sérgio Sousa Pinto (PS), the Parliamentary Friends of Portugal – China Group, Ana Catarina Mendes (PS), the vice – president of the Parliamentary Group of Friendship Portugal – China, António Leitão Amaro (PSD), and deputies Hélder Amaral (CDS-PP) and António Filipe (PCP).
At the beginning of December, on 04 and 05, the Chinese leader will be in Portugal on a state visit, according to the Portuguese Foreign Minister Augusto Santos Silva announced in October.
