Ferro scores, and saves Benfica against Tondela
19th-minute goal by Ferro gives Benfica victory against Tondela.
Back in the National Championship, and after two wins against Cova da Piedade for the Portuguese Cup and Olympique Lyon for the Champions League.
The game against Tondela, always difficult team for the big ones, only victory interested Benfica. Also because it gives the lead to the condition in Porto matchday with Famalicão, leader of the championship.
The only goal of the match was in the 19th minute, scored by the central defender, Ferro, but the incarnated team still does not convince.
Tondela, a team well organized by Natxo González, had a good meeting, with the “pieces” that have the task of making it difficult, and even had opportunities to score in the meeting held at João Cardoso Stadium.
The red defence was making several mistakes, and Denilson Junior on nine minutes appeared isolated but firing in defense of Vlachodimos, who shortly after denies the goal, now to Xavier.

Only with the entrance in the 76th minute, Chiquinho, returned after injury since the match whit Porto, shot, for Claudio Ramos defence.
Benfica is waiting for the result of the match of the leader, Famalicão and FC Porto, to now the place in the championship.
