Twenty-eight Portuguese musical projects, from fado to hip hop and other alternative sounds, will perform on September 14 and 15, on street stages at the Viana Bate Forte 2018 festival.
“I’m going to bring my love stories to Viana and there may still be a surprise. I love popular music and folklore” said the singer Gisela João
The poster was presented this Wednesday at Largo Maestro José Pedro, the novelty stage of this edition, which will be held, with free entry, in five public spaces in the historic center of Viana do Castelo. And includes names like Manel Cruz, Salvador Sobral, Gisela João, Carolina Deslandes, Ana Bacalhau, Dead Combo, The Legendary Tigerman, NBC, Linda Martini, Mundo Segundo & Sam the Kid and Noiserv.
“It’s an eclectic festival. Let’s have fado, hip hop, rock, soul, light music and a set of records to please everyone.” The poster is very strong, “said Maria José Guerreiro, Viana do Castelo City Council, which organizes the event for the third consecutive year. “In 2016, we started with three stages, in 2017 we moved on to four and now to five: Praças da Erva, República, Liberdade and Porta Mexia Galvão, and Largo Maestro José Pedro, which we named “Gil Eannes stage,” he concluded, concluding: “At the end of the second edition, Viana Bate Forte was already part of the top 20 of Portugal’s top festivals. At the end of this issue I do not know where we’re going to get. ”
