The Fado Festival returns in 2023 with 17 planned destinations, the largest number ever, Madrid is one of the destinations that has been present since its first edition.
This year’s Madrid Festival takes place on the 24th of September at the Teatro Real and features a luxury poster with Mariza, Raquel Tavares, and the guitar trio, Pedro Castro, Luís Guerreiro, and Bernardo Couto.
The Festival de Fado Madrid will dedicate the programming of its 13th edition to the Portuguese guitar, a fundamental instrument of Portuguese music and culture. Both the concerts and the rest of the program will be focused on disseminating his legacy and throughout the day you can visit the exhibition “Fado and the Portuguese Guitar” created by the Fado Museum and EGEAC.
Also joining the program is a lecture by Pedro de Castro, one of the most virtuous Portuguese guitarists of his time, and the documentary “Guitarras Portuguesas” in which you will learn about the history of the instrument from its manufacture to the great masters who played it.
