The Lavre Festival is back, promising four days of music, tradition, and culture in the heart of Alentejo. It expects to welcome around 25,000 people over four days of intense celebration, where Portuguese music, local cuisine, and folk traditions merge in a unique atmosphere, from July 25-28 in the village of Lavre, Montemor-o-Novo.
Created in 1999 by a group of local youth, the festival has established itself as one of the most authentic in Alentejo. The 27th edition in 2025 features three distinct stages, including the Main Stage in Praça da República and the Flavours Stage, where live music accompanies traditional dishes such as bifanas and roast chicken.
The event goes far beyond music. It includes camping, a procession honouring Our Lady of the Assumption, and even a podcast dedicated to the town’s stories and culture. More than a festival, it’s an affirmation of Lavre’s identity and a driving force against the desertification of the interior.
With free admission to several activities and affordable passes (€8 per day; €25 general pass or €30 with camping included), the Lavre Festival is inclusive, sustainable, and genuine in connecting generations.
