The 3rd edition of the Emergent Festival will take place on the 15th and 16th of October at Capitólio, one of the best venues in the country and in the city of Lisbon. After the difficult but challenging 2020 edition, the festival returns to its original model in two days, in an alignment full of emerging bands.
A poster full of talent, as a result of a very strong Super Emerging Open Call, in which once again this new generation of musicians exceeded all expectations and made the selection extremely difficult: 11 bands were selected for the lineup. The poster features Sreya, Bia Maria, Evacigana, Madalena Palmeirim, Conjunto Júlio, Falso Nove, Too Many Suns, Quase Nicolau, Mikee Shite, Biloba, Mike Vhiles, April Marmara, Gator The Alligator, Caio, Chinaskee, Los Chapos, Humana Taranja and Solar Corona.
Emergente thus lives up to its main mission of supporting the new generation of Portuguese music, giving it as many opportunities as possible, making it take to a stage with excellent technical, spatial and audiovisual conditions, so that its talent can shine in big concerts with great performances, already a hallmark of the festival.
Knowing that good musicians become even better musicians when they are in a good position to do what they know best. We believe this is the greatest incentive we can give this new generation to pursue their dreams. Those who take the stage as a result of the Open Call will also be awarded two prizes: Best Super Emerging Concert (by a combined vote of the jury and the public) whose prize is the performance at the Rodellus Festival in 2022 and Best Musical Project (under the sole responsibility of the jury) whose prize is the recording of an EP or album at the Camaleão Studios, in Lisbon.
The festival is once again held physically and in Live Streaming, on the Meo Blue Ticket platform. Live Streaming’s revenue will revert entirely to União Audiovisual, as a way to support those without whom concerts cannot exist and who also supported us last year.
