Festival F – Everything you need to know
Festival F is one of the most anticipated cultural events in the Algarve and returns next week with a program that promises to please all audiences. This year, the festival, which takes place in the city of Faro between the 5th and 7th of September, brings a vibrant mix of music, art, gastronomy and culture, making it the essential destination for those looking for quality entertainment.
The venue’s doors open at 6 pm, with the first performances starting at 7:30 pm, so it is recommended that all visitors arrive early, with time to explore the space. During the festival days, it will be possible to take advantage of a 25% discount on the BIRD app with the code FestivalF24 (valid for two trips per day) for those who want to travel to the venue by scooter.
The organization of the F festival will provide a free bus service, from 8 pm to 5 am, in a ‘shuttle’ format, with tickets every 15 minutes at Teatro das Figuras, Avenida Calouste Gulbenkian, Avenida Cidade de Hayward (Municipal Swimming Pools), Rua Dr José de Matos, João de Deus Secondary School (Liceu), Avenida 5 de Outubro and Jardim Manuel Bivar.
Festival F is 100% cashless (except the author markets) and bracelets will be distributed at the festival’s entrance gates. Visitors can charge the bracelets via their mobile device, simply access the QR code available on the bracelet, or charging points in the following locations – Largo de São Francisco (Palco Sagres), Largo do Castelo, Largo da Sé (Palco Grupo Timing).
As with previous editions, the use of reusable cups will be maintained, to promote environmental awareness and the adoption of good practices. In this sense, cups from previous editions of Festival F will be accepted (but not from other festivals or events, for reasons of measuring quantities).
The Festival site is located in the historic area of Faro, taking advantage of the picturesque spaces of Vila Adentro. With an organization thought out in detail, the venue includes several stages distributed throughout the area, allowing the public to move freely and explore every corner of the festival. There will be rest areas, food areas with options for all tastes and drink bars that cannot be missed. The place closes at 5:00 am.
Festival F is made up of 8 different stages, each with its representation. The Sagres Stage features names such as Nininho Vaz Maia, Ivandro, Carolina Deslandes, Van Zee and Marisa Liz, among others. To ensure everyone’s safety and comfort, Festival F will have a support team available at all times, including first aid, security guards and volunteers. Access to the venue will be controlled, with a well-defined entry and exit area, where ticket and security checks will be carried out. Furthermore, the Festival will be inclusive and accessible for people with reduced mobility on the Sagres Stage and Grupo Timing Stage, guaranteeing all comfort and visibility, in addition to adapted bathrooms.
In the Ria Stage area, we will have the ‘Fagar Kids F’ space where we invite the youngest to try out the countless activities and recreational-pedagogical experiences within the scope of Environmental Sustainability. Opening hours are from 8 pm to midnight for children between 6 and 12 years old.
