Festival Iminente will make the Panorâmico de Monsanto an artistic residence, in Lisbon, for ten days in September
In 2020, the Imminent takes a risk and adapts to the global pandemic situation. With closed spaces, limited hours and measures that must be complied with, the festival will become Oficina Iminente. And, knowing that necessity is the mother of invention, it was under this motto that a special program was created, with face-to-face access for some, but open to all.
A space of creativity, openness, exchange of ideas, communion, expression and creation. A moment that will live far beyond the time it occupies, a journey through several territories of artistic experimentation: this is Oficina Iminente.
Curated by Alexandre Farto aka Vhils and the Underdogs platform, and co-organized with the Lisbon City Council, a group of artists from various areas was invited to create and streamline a series of activities and actions.
The space of choice is once again Panoramic of Monsanto, an emblematic building in the city that has hosted the festival in many editions.
The program includes workshops, talks, concerts and a public art park, which will be a permanent landmark of this space. As the capacity had to be reduced, only workshop participants will be able to access the program in person. Talks and concerts will be streamed on the festival’s website and the public art park can be visited for free when the Panorântico de Monsanto opens its doors to the public again.
With a unique mix of artists, performers, musicians, activists, researchers and authors, this new model offers an experience of closeness and intimacy, addressing urgent and contemporary themes. A true experience of creativity and exploration of the limitless imagination capacity of the human being. Join the Oficina Iminente, at Panoramico or at home, and don’t miss the opportunity to be part of this new experience.
