Periferias – International Festival of Performing Arts returns to Sintra with national and international talents and a diverse cultural program, from July 30th to August 1st, with free admission.
Organized by Chão de Oliva – Cultural Diffusion Center and with the support of the Municipality of Sintra, the festival is now in its 10th edition and, this year, takes place at Quinta da Ribafria and at the Casa de Teatro de Sintra.
This festival offers a diverse 3-day cultural program, with various moments of outdoor music and theater aimed at different audiences. Emerging talents from the municipality of Sintra gain a voice in this show that promotes various theater moments and a set of outdoor concerts where you can hear and enjoy different sounds, ranging from fado to hip hop, pop and traditional Portuguese music.
Given the contingencies resulting from the current pandemic context, this edition of Periferias also intends to support emerging artists in the municipality of Sintra who, due to the unpredictability of restrictions, were left without space to promote their work or were prevented from regularly developing their activity.
After the summer show, the festival will go out again in the fall, and in winter it will open the curtains in the concert halls again with a new program in the hall.
