The Queer International Film Festival of Porto is running until next Saturday, October 16th.
In addition to resuming a program that includes activities such as masterclasses and performances, note for the creation of a new competitive section in partnership with the Rectory of the University of Porto, the Casa Comum Award, dedicated exclusively to queer Portuguese cinema.
This is where Tiago Resende’s delicate work in “Películas” is included, when he reads a letter to Luís Miguel Nava, and André Murraças rescues history by recovering a short story by António José da Silva Pinto, in “O Berloque Vermelho”. Paulo Patrício, on the other hand, reminds us of that other figure, that of Gisberta, rightly evoked in cinema, theater and literature, to which this “O Teu Nome É” adds something very new. The program is completed with another six short films.
The sessions and other activities of this seventh edition take place at Teatro Rivoli, Rectory of the University of Porto, Faculty of Fine Arts, Maus Hábitos, and Mala Voadora.
