But how does it happen? Who thinks, builds, and animates this matter made of dreams?
Throughout the year 2023, the fimp invites us to take a look at the place where this kind of magic is prepared: the puppeteers’ atelier.

The first door we are going to open is Teatro de Ferro, which will be working on the new creation “Bora Lá Laborar”.
We’ll know the result of this hard work in October at the end of fimp’23, but in the meantime, we couldn’t resist curiosity!…

Teatro de Ferro was created in 1999 under the artistic direction of Carla Veloso and Igor Gandra.
The name – Teatro de Ferro – assumes a notion of the primordial material that is resistant and at the same time changeable: a process of transformation that continues to be inspiring.

The company’s work has been developed mainly in the field of puppet theater and objects – a research logic is inscribed in which the puppet assumes a matrix value in its possible, attempted, and tempting hybridizations.

The relationships between the body-performer and the manipulated object-world and the implication of each spectator in the construction of this relationship are lines of reflection transversal to TdF’s extensive artistic practice.

Teatro de Ferro has been supported, since 2003, by the Ministry of Culture / Direcção-Geral das Artes.
