The event’s poster also features other artists in a great celebration of love on several national stages: RESISTANCE – THE BLACK MAMBA – JORGE PALMA – GNR – LUÍSA SOBRAL – AUREA – BÁRBARA TINOCO – BONGA – DIOGO PIÇARRA – FERNANDO DANIEL

In February we celebrate love, romance, Valentine’s Day, the feelings of the most passionate…

Accompanying the sharing of these feelings with the best soundtrack is the proposal of the Festival ‘Montepio às vezes o amor’ which is back for its 8th edition on the 12th, 13th and 14th of February with concerts in 14 cities that, during these days will be 14 true capitals of love.

In this edition, the Festival debuts in Lagos, at Centro Cultural, with a concert by Mafalda Veiga on February 14, one of the new confirmations of the 2022 edition.
The singer-songwriter’s proposal for this event could not be more intimate: the show SOLO.

SOLO is a kind of personal “anthology” of Mafalda Veiga that is shown in film, music and words. In this concert, which features some themes never played live, his songs are stripped to the bone of voice and guitar, to re-construct themselves in memory and dialogue with original images, filmed and edited by director Tomás Baltazar for this show. In addition to his best-known and most intimate songs, the concert includes versions in Portuguese, from the Beatles to Rita Lee, David Bowie and Seu Jorge. It also includes unpublished versions, written at the invitation of Mafalda, of great pop classics adapted by poet Filipa Leal, musician Rui Reininho, and by Ricardo Marques, poet and translator in Portugal of Patti Smith.

Carlão is another name confirmed for this edition of the Festival ‘Montepio às vezes o amor’ and will perform live at Convento São Francisco, Coimbra, on February 14th.

Carlão is a born communicator, with vast experience gained, in large part, in the numerous shows that he has accumulated throughout his career.
He easily identifies with the audience and establishes an almost immediate connection with them, becoming an accomplice in the adventures and misadventures, inside and outside his music, on stage and in life.
One of the biggest names in urban music today, he presents a concert with constant energy and a total and unselfish delivery.
It is an excellent opportunity for those who live love in a bolder way, to feel it with a lot of power and good energy to the sound of unavoidable themes such as “Os Tais”, “Viver Pra Semper” or “Contigo”.

Love is also lived with (a lot) of humour and Herman José is proof of that.
It would be a paradox if humour and love did not go hand in hand. The one empowers the other, and there’s nothing better to catalyze passion than a good laugh.
Herman’s characters are full of them: “José Estebes” passion for football, Nelo’s passion for “Sua Gaja”, Serafim’s passion for his “publicuzinho” and of course Herman’s passion for music, whose popular hits give a very special colour and joy to all your shows.
On February 13th, love joins humour in the show by Herman José at Teatro Municipal de Ourém.

New artists, cities and theatres will be announced very soon to be part of the Festival’s poster ‘Montepio às vezes o amor’.

An event conceived and organized by Producers Associados e Locomotiva Azul which, in 2021, was distinguished with the Marketeer Award for the 2020 year event and which now returns with increased strength and willingness to celebrate love with more and more people through concerts unique and unforgettable, also marking a long-awaited return of live shows in 14 cities that will be marked by an unforgettable Valentine’s Day.
