In this, which is the sixth edition of the festival organized by the Orquestra Jazz de Leiria, there is a reinforcement of the training proposals, fulfilling the purpose of the OJL Jazz Sessions, explains conductor and director César Cardoso.
The program includes a ‘jam session’ to reinforce this logic of involvement, in this case on stage with older musicians, and this year there will also be a didactic action for schools in the 2nd and 3rd cycles of the municipality of Leiria.
In addition to these jazz seeds released to the youngest, the festival takes three concerts to Teatro Miguel Franco, in Leiria.
On the 9th of July, the Big Band of the Municipality of Nazaré will play, directed by Adelino Mota, on the 10th the saxophonist Tomás Marques will perform with a quartet of new generation musicians and on the 11th of July André Rosinha Trio will show the album ‘A Árvore ‘.
