Filipa Reis and João Miller Guerra film selected for Cinemart

The Rotterdam festival announced the 17 cinematographic projects selected for Cinemart, and among them is the project of the fictional feature film “Légua“, jointly signed by Filipa Reis and João Miller Guerra, which will have co-production between Portugal, Brazil, and France.

The film has financial support from the Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual, supporting feature films (250 thousand euros) and under the Portuguese-French protocol (30 thousand euros).

This is a return of Filipa Reis and João Miller Guerra to the Rotterdam film festival, where the fiction film “Djon Africa” premiered in 2018.

Cinemart will run from February 1st to 5th, putting producers and directors in contact, only in ‘online’ format, because of the covid-19 pandemic.

According to the organization, the 17 projects selected for Cinemart are nominated for several European awards, including the Eurimages prize for co-production development.

The Rotterdam film festival will complete its 50th edition, expanded in two phases, from February 1st to 7th and from June 2nd to 6th, on account of the measures to control the new coronavirus, in an online and in-room format.

In addition to directors, working between documentary and fiction, Filipa Reis and João Miller Guerra are also producers in Uma Pedra no Sapato, in which they worked with names like Leonor Teles, José Filipe Costa, and Marco Martins.
