CineClube Seixal – Short Film Exhibition and Competition runs throughout the 2022-2023 school year and is a film creation project, with the theme «Film Your City», which aims to encourage artistic creativity in young people and contribute to their comprehensive cultural education, encouraging their approach to the arts and civic participation in valuing and respecting the territory. CineClube Seixal also seeks to create conditions for learning and developing the analysis of various themes through the potential of cinematographic language.

«Associating the dynamism and creativity of youth with knowledge and dissemination of our territory are two components of this project aimed at young people in the municipality», stresses the mayor of Seixal, Paulo Silva.

Aimed at young people aged between 15 and 20, residing in the municipality of Seixal, who can participate individually or in groups (up to a maximum of three elements), this project enables participants to learn how to make a film based on the theme, with a team that will guide them from production to writing the script, to directing and editing the film, and which provides all the necessary material to make the short film.

Upon receipt of applications, a maximum of 17 film ideas/applications will be selected, based on the quality and coherence shown in the synopsis/story described in the application.

CineClube Seixal – Short Film Exhibition and Contest will take place from December 3, 2022, to June 2023, in two phases: training and final screening in a movie theatre.

The training phase for selected projects will take place in a space to be designated, on Thursdays from 6.30 pm to 8.30 pm and/or on Saturdays from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm.

As soon as the projects are finished, the short films are shown, in a public presentation, with guests and a jury that will critically analyse the movie presented.
