Film ‘Collective’ wins LUX Audience Award 2021

Alexander Nanau’s film starts from a fire in a nightclub that resulted, after a doctor’s complaint, in an investigation by a group of journalists into a fraud in the Romanian health system.

‘Another Round’, by Danish director Thomas Vinterberg, who won this year’s Oscar for Best International Film, by the Hollywood Academy, and ‘Corpus Christi’, by Polish Jan Komasa, completed the list of finalists.

‘Collective’ was nominated for this year’s Academy Awards for Best International Film and Best Documentary.

‘Corpus Christi’ was nominated for last year’s Oscars in the category of Best International Film.

This year, the European Parliament partnered with the European Film Academy, the European Commission and the Europa Cinemas network for the new version of the award, which was renamed LUX Public Award, with the final vote being determined by the combination of the classification the average vote of the public and the vote of Members of the European Parliament, with each group weighing 50%.
