Cláudia Varejão’s film is part of the Rotterdam Festival in June
The festival is celebrating its 50th edition, having decided to divide it into two parts, one in February and the other in June.
The organization announced the festival’s June program, between 02 and 06, which will feature more than a hundred films, including “Amor Fati” by Cláudia Varejão.
The film, filmed over two years in various Portuguese locations, records stories of unshakable loves that were expressed, at first glance, in similar faces, for example, between two twin sisters, between a mother and a son, between a man and your horse.
In February, the Rotterdam Festival scheduled several films, talks and a co-production market, which took place only online, and awarded the main prizes.
In the February stage of the festival, the short film “Tracing Utopia”, by the Portuguese Catarina de Sousa and the American Nick Tyson, was in competition.
In parallel to the festival, the co-production market took place, for professionals, for which the project for the fictional feature film “Légua”, by Filipa Reis and João Miller Guerra, was selected.
The festival also reviewed 50 editions, choosing as many films to be shown online between February and June, including “A Ilha dos Amores” (1983), by Paulo Rocha.
