Find out who are the finalists of the Loops.Lisboa2018 award

Artists João Bento, Leticia Larín and Mané are the three finalists of Loops.Lisboa2018, a prize promoted by the Temps d’Images festival, whose winner will be known on November 29, was announced today.

The works of João Bento, Letícia Larín, ‘O Guarani (right and left)’, and Mané, ‘Período Azul’, will be presented at the National Museum of Contemporary Art of Chiado (MNAC), at the Loops. Lisboa exhibition, which opens on November 29, according to the organization of Temps d’Images in a statement released today.

At the inauguration of the show, which will be open until February 3, 2019, the winner of the 4th edition of Loops. Lisboa will be announced, which will receive a prize of two thousand euros.

The works of the three artists were selected from a total of 197 entries. The jury of the competition consists of Emília Tavares (curator of MNAC), Isabel Nogueira (historian and critic of contemporary art) and Sandra Lischi (art historian and artistic director of InVideo, Milano).

The prize challenges artists to investigate the ‘loop’ and explore this mechanism of the image through the language of cinema and ‘art’, creating unpublished works.

In previous editions, the competition ‘O Retrato de Ulisses’ by João Cristóvão Leitão in 2015, ‘Zootrope’ by Tiago Rosa-Rosso Carvalhas in 2016, and ‘Delphine Apisionada’ by Ricardo Pinto Magalhães, in the last year.

The 16th edition of the Temps d’Images Festival, dedicated to the crossing of contemporary artistic creation, runs until December 2, featuring seven absolute premieres, including shows, concerts, exhibitions and cinema.

The festival takes place in various spaces in Lisbon, among them the Alkantara Space, the BLX – Marvila Library, CAL, the Ideal Cinema, the Culturgest, the Museum of Art Architecture and Technology (MAAT), Pancas Palha Palace, Neighborhood and the Iberian Theater.
