On December 8, the British Embassy and the British Council organize a British Market in Lisbon as a way to culminate the celebrations of the 80 years of the British Council in Portugal.

The many activities and entertainments that will be made available to visitors will be centred around the theme of Education, under the motto ‘Education is GREAT’ (Britain). On this day our visitors will be able to experience the best of the UK, from traditional fish & chips to delicious scones, concerts and art workshops, and the possibility to expand the British literature section of your library!

We invite fans of ‘Harry Potter’, ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Alice in Wonderland’ or even Ed Sheeran, to join us for an unforgettable day full of activities, and the best of music, British cinema and video games …

There will also be a Quiz about the UK that will allow the winners to win tickets for the Lisbon Film Orchestra LIVE concert, which takes place in Campo Pequeno on Sunday 9 December.

At the end of the day, adults will be able to watch a special film session, with screenings of a selection of short films BAFTA Shorts 2018, and take part in a British gin and whiskey competition.
