Fitacola releases a new single, “Monstros” with Tiago Nogueira (Os Quatro E Meia), marking 20 years as a band. A collection of influences and experiences that launch the challenge for another long-term album – De Corpo e Alma to be released at the end of the year.
About Fitacola:
He began his activity in 2003, having already released 5 E.P (Rebobina e Pensa, Outro Dias, Vontades, Escolhas e Razões), as well as 3 long-playing albums (Mundo Ideal, Caminhos Secretos and Contratempo). Genres such as Punk, Rock, Folk, Indie, Hardcore or even Pop, mark the musical aesthetics of the band that has already toured Portugal from end to end on stages, sometimes big, sometimes small, including Queima das Fitas de Coimbra, Queima das Fitas do Porto, and two Coliseums in Lisbon.
About the single:
“Monstros” talks about the sudden absence of someone who was a regular presence at the band’s shows. It aims to be a tribute, as well as to recognize the importance of our long-time fans, through the ups and downs of a journey, not always easy, of a Punk-Rock band in Portugal.
This single features the participation of Tiago Nogueira (Os Quatro e Meia) sharing the main vocals with vocalist Diogo Ramos. It was recorded at the Blue House studio in Coimbra, produced by the band itself, and mixed and mastered by Wilson Silva at Wrecords Studios.
Fitacola is formed by Diogo Ramos (Main Voice and Bass), Nuno “Cábál” Almeida (2nd Voice, Choirs and Guitar), Hugo Gamboias (Choirs, Guitar) and Francisco Vale (Choirs and Drums).
Currently, the musicians are preparing for the year 2024 with several dates across the country, the closest being in Criarte, Carcavelos, on March 15th.
