Five Portuguese artists nominated for the MTV Awards
The musicians Tay, Profjam, Plutónio, Fernando Daniel and David Carreira are nominated for the European music awards of the TV channel MTV, was announced today.
This will be the 26th edition of the MTV Awards, with regional categories for each country where the television channel is broadcast and whose choice of winner is made online.
For the prize “Best Portuguese Artist” are nominated five musicians, among which Tay, still without any album edited and that adds millions of views with the themes “I don’t need” and “Think well”.
Tay are joined by two other names in recent hip hop – Profjam and Plutónio – and musicians Fernando Daniel and David Carreira, who have twice won that MTV award.
Fernando Daniel is edited by Universal Music and the other four nominees are artists of Sony Music.
In the remaining categories of MTV’s EMA Awards, the highlight goes to North American singer Ariana Grande, who leads with seven nominations, including ‘Best Artist’ and ‘Best Song’ with ‘Thank you, next’.
With six nominations each come Shawn Mendes, Lil Nas X and Billie Eilish.
The announcement ceremony of the winners is scheduled for November 3 in Seville, Spain, and will be broadcast by MTV in about 180 countries.
