Five shows, one a national premiere, and the screening of a film mark the fourth theater show “Cenas de Novembro”, from Friday until November 18, in Serpa, Alentejo.
The show takes to the city of Serpa, in the district of Beja, shows “for everyone and for various tastes” and is an “opportunity to discuss with the creators the theater that is made in Portugal” explained today the promoter, the Theater Company Baal17.
According to Baal17, the show will include three shows for the general public and family, always starting at 9:30 pm and followed by talks with its actors, creators and artistic directors, and two for children, always starting at 4:00 p.m., in addition to the screening of a film, at the Municipal Cinema of Serpa.
The show begins on Friday with the first show for the general public and familiar “Auto da India” by Gil Vicente, by the Cat SA group, from Vila Nova de S. André, who will perform for the first time in Serpa.
The offer for the general public and family will also include, on 09, the show “Appeared to Margarida” by Baal17, and on the 16th, the national anthem of “Virtual Reality”, the new piece of the community theater project Teatro Duas Senas, from Cacém, which will also perform for the first time in Serpa and is tutored by the company Teatromosca, Sintra, in partnership with CECD Mira Sintra – Center for Education for the Deprived Citizen.
The offer of the children’s show will include the “Ratsódia” shows, by the company Teatro Extremo, from Almada, on Sunday, and “Do Princípio ao Fim”, by the Beiras Theater, in Covilhã, on the 18th.
The exhibition will also include, on the 11th, at 4:00 PM, the screening of a film by Mairea Buenaventura and Sebastián Reyne on the presentation, last September, at Largo dos Condes de Ficalho, in Serpa, of the theater show “Camino Real III – A Celebration”, produced by Baal17 in partnership with the Serpa Theater Workshop and the local community.
After the screening of the film, there will be a talk with the actors in the show “Camino Real III – The Celebration” about this theater experience with the community, which brought together about 100 professional and amateur actors,
“Camino Real III – The Celebration” was the third and final show of a project to approach the work “Camino Real”, considered “the damn text” of Tennessee Williams, named “one of the most admirable playwrights of the 20th century “.
The project was developed by Baal17, in partnership with the Theater Workshop of Serpa, an amateur group tutored by the company, and the local community.
