Fixando announced today that it will donate 1,300 kg of animal feed to 4 Associations – Animals from the Farm, Animals from the Street, Portuguese League for Animal Rights and Midas Association – raised in a national campaign that aimed to raise awareness among the Portuguese against animal abandonment, through sharing of requests from owners looking for accommodation for their animals during the holidays.
The campaign “Partilhe e Cuide de um Animal com Fixando”, launched as part of the Solidarity Project Fixando Cuida, and which ran from June 19th to July 31st, stipulated that, for every 1,000 shares, the company committed to donate 1kg and one of the four associations, having received 2,800 requests from pet owners looking for a place to house their animals.
“Of the 2,800 requests, 1927 were shared at least once and 1426 received a proposal from someone available to take care of their animals this summer”, guarantees Alice Nunes, director of New Business at APP, which connects clients to specialists from all over the country in all the services.
The company concludes that the campaign was a success in that it managed to help not only associations to feed their animals, but also more than 1,400 owners to find a solution in this critical period of abandonment.
“Our campaign’s success also demonstrates the importance that owners attach to their pets and the desire to provide them with the best possible care, even during the holidays, and its results highlight a cross-cutting willingness to support charities and care of the well-being of the animals”, concludes the same person in charge.
