Flamengo beats Fluminense and takes the Rio Championship
Just needing a draw, the team beat Fluminense again, this time 1-0, on Wednesday night (15), at Maracanã. The title, the second in a row, is Fla’s 36th in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
This is also the club’s fifth cup since Jorge Jesus arrived a year ago. Before that, under the command of the Portuguese, the team won the Libertadores and the Brasileirão 2019, in addition to the Recopa Sul-Americana and the Supercopa do Brasil, in 2020.
In total, and in addition to the six ‘cups’, there were 44 wins, 10 draws and four losses in 58 games, with 132 goals scored and 47 conceded.
