The defeat confirmed Flamengo’s second consecutive Brazilian title this Thursday (25).
The team did not do its part and lost to São Paulo by 2 to 1, in Morumbi. However, Internacional’s goalless draw against Corinthians in Beira-Rio confirmed the team as the champion with the slightest advantage, of just one point. The result also helps the team from São Paulo, which guaranteed a direct spot in the group stage of the Copa Libertadores.
On an emotional return to coach Rogério Céni’s Morumbi, Luciano (45+2’) opened the game for the São Paulo tricolor. Bruno Henrique (52’) still drew for Flamengo, but Pablo (59’) sealed São Paulo’s victory after Dani Alves passed.
