Everybody Scream, Florence + the Machine’s sixth studio album, is scheduled for release on October 31st. The album’s title track has been unveiled, accompanied by an official video directed by Autumn de Wilde.
Florence Welch wrote and produced the album over the past two years with a close-knit circle of collaborators, including Mark Bowen of IDLES — who appears in the “Everybody Scream” video — Aaron Dessner, and Mitski.
After undergoing life-saving surgery during the “Dance Fever” tour, Florence’s recovery took her down a path of spiritual mysticism, witchcraft, and folk horror, as she felt the limits of her body and explored what it means to be “healed.” The album explores themes such as women’s status, partnership, ageing, and death, revealing the darker aspects of everyday life.
Throughout five albums – Lungs (2009), Ceremonials (2011), How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful (2015), High As Hope (2018), and Dance Fever (2022) – Florence has become one of the most monumental artists of her generation, with multiple #1 albums in the US and UK and countless awards. Known for her breathtaking live shows and a singular, iconic voice, Florence has sold out venues and headlined festivals around the world. She has collaborated and shared the stage with icons such as The Rolling Stones, Lady Gaga, and Taylor Swift, and published a book of lyrics, poetry, and drawings, “Useless Magic.”
