FNAC seeks New Talents, this year with many new features

Already launched another edition of the contest New Talents FNAC, under the motto: ‘Show yourself to the World’, will reward young national artists passionate about cinema, writing, photography and music.

In the category of cinema it is requested that a short film of fiction or animation be submitted to the competition with a maximum duration of eight minutes; in writing, an original literary tale with a maximum of three thousand words; in music a track of an original song; and in the photograph a portfolio of at least 12 original photographs. Registration is free and open until April 19th.

The works can be submitted on Facebook of FNAC Portugal and the winners will be announced at the end of the month of May, in the delivery of prizes ‘New Talents FNAC 2019’.

The big news this year is the inclusion, in partnership with REPSOL, of a monetary prize for winning projects in the categories of film, writing and photography. In the case of Music, this support translates into the production of a single from the winning band with mixing, recording, mastering and production included.

In addition to this reinforcement, the prizes of last year remain: in music the four award-winning bands have their theme incorporated into the disc NEW TALENTS FNAC Music 2019 and the winning project also receives the production of a video clip, as well as a performance in the festival FNAC, LIVE 19; in writing, the creative writing workshop, by the school Write, Write, to the winner and the publication of the four best short stories in the book New Talents FNAC Writing 2019; in the photograph FUJIFILM offers gift vouchers in FUJIFILM X photographic equipment and all the highlighted projects will see their works exposed in the FNAC forums. In the category of cinema, the winners will see their short films be publicly displayed and the winner will also have access to a workshop offered by Lusófona University.

The jury panel maintains the quality of previous years, and in the writing category, Afonso Cruz now joins João Tordo, Dulce Maria Cardoso and Conceição Garcia. In the remaining categories, there are no changes to be noted. In the photograph will be Mário Cruz, Augusto Brázio, Francisco Feio and Sérgio B. Gomes to analyze the works. In music, the decisions are made by Henrique Amaro, Lia Pereira, Luís Oliveira and Rui Miguel Abreu. In the category of cinema, the choices will be made by Paulo Trancoso, João Canijo, Paulo Viveiros and Margarida Cardoso.

FNAC partners in this year’s edition are REPSOL, FUJIFILM, Write Write, IPF, Universidade Lusófona, Antena 3, Magazine HD, Looks and Frog.
