On the 24th and 25th of September, the Portuguese traditional music festival – Maia Folk Music Fest will debut, on a stage installed in Parque Cidade Desportiva da Maia, organized by In Rock We Trust in partnership with the Ministry of Culture of the Maia City Council.
It was asked to the promoter what the main reason for this type of festival is. The answer was “music from traditional and popular roots have come to constitute a fundamental cultural reference in the processes of reaffirming the identity of peoples, understood as an indispensable element for their rooting and expressive autonomy”.
