The Ford Mustang Mach-E will receive Over-The-Air software updates throughout its life that will enable the SUV to be improved without owners leaving the house.
The new Ford Mustang Mach-E has several features that make it an even more interesting vehicle for buyers. And not only that, as everyone who offers you space in your garage will see how it will be able to improve throughout its life thanks to Over-The-Air updates to its software.
The update system developed by Ford allows the software to receive updates in the background, which eliminates the usual unpleasant waiting times at these times. The customer can also choose the time of day when these will take place, for example, when he knows with certainty that the vehicle will be stopped in the garage. In addition, the improvements are not limited to the SYNC multimedia system, since almost all modules of the SUV’s computer can be upgraded via Wireless.
Ford expects the first software updates to take place during the six months following the delivery of the first Mustang Mach-E units. Each customer will receive notifications with details of what each update includes.
“The beauty of the Mustang Mach-E is that the customer experience on the first day is just the beginning – the experience will evolve and add new features and capabilities over time,” says John Vangelov, connected services manager, Ford Motor Company. “Our over-the-air updates also shorten the time the system is not available through incredibly fast activation, ensuring that your Mustang Mach-E will look even better, even while you sleep.”
The pandemic caused by the new coronavirus did not prevent Ford from continuing to develop updates to the electric SUV. The brand’s engineering team found new ways to create and test them. Remote access to all vehicle modules was configured to be able to reprogram any of them, even in telework.
