The update system developed by Ford allows the software to receive updates in the background, which eliminates the usual unpleasant waiting times at these times. The customer can also choose the time of day when these will take place, for example, when he knows with certainty that the vehicle will be stopped in the garage. In addition, the improvements are not limited to the SYNC multimedia system, since almost all modules of the SUV’s computer can be upgraded via Wireless.
Ford expects the first software updates to take place during the six months following the delivery of the first Mustang Mach-E units. Each customer will receive notifications with details of what each update includes.

The pandemic caused by the new coronavirus did not prevent Ford from continuing to develop updates to the electric SUV. The brand’s engineering team found new ways to create and test them. Remote access to all vehicle modules was configured to be able to reprogram any of them, even in telework.
