Fortera announces the creation of 500 jobs in Gaia

The Portuguese group FORTERA announced today the creation of 500 new jobs in the Skyline project, in Vila Nova de Gaia, whose global investment amounts to € 100m, and is expected to start construction next year.

“We will start the work in 2021 and complete it in 2-3 years”, informs Elad Dror, CEO of the Fortera group.

The architect SOUTO MOURA, winner of the Pritzker Prize in 2011, was hired to design a hotel with 160 rooms, a congress center, and 100 apartments, all part of the Skyline project, located at Rua General Torres, in Vila Nova de Gaia.

“The project is totally different in the region and even in the country and getting Souto Moura’s signature for this work is something that makes us extraordinarily excited to be a nobel, an icon of architecture, which will add enormous patrimonial value to the project and to the region,” says Elad Dror, group CEO.

Skyline is a unique project that consists of an ecosystem of commerce, services, residential, leisure, divided into 5 distinct areas: a 20-story hotel with 160 rooms, a congress center for events and exhibitions with a capacity for 2,000 people, a square and commercial areas, 16,000 m2 of offices and 10,000 m2 of residential area.
