Foster The People confirmed at NOS Alive’25
Foster The People is confirmed in the 17th edition of NOS Alive. Mark Foster and Isom Innis’ band takes the Heineken stage on the third day of the festival, on July 12, at the Passeio Marítimo de Algés.
Mark Foster has found a new creative starting point with Paradise State of Mind, the latest album by Foster the People. During a trip to the UK in 2022, the musician met up with his former collaborator Paul Epworth at the iconic London studio The Church and began exploring new ideas without much expectation. The album’s title came on the first day, with the creation of the main track in partnership with Epworth and singer Jack Peñate. This moment unlocked the creativity of Foster, who set out to create a personal cathartic experience and a space for healing and joy for listeners. Inspired by the musical innovation of the 70s and 80s, Foster incorporated elements of funk, disco, gospel and jazz alongside synthesizers and orchestral arrangements to create a rich and multifaceted sound.
With collaborations between The Church in London and the legendary East West Studios in Los Angeles, the album was recorded in historic studios, bringing a balance between analogue authenticity and modern groove. Songs like “Lost in Space” and “Glitchzig” stand out for mixing dance melodies with introspective lyrics, while the album maintains a hopeful vibration as its core. Beyond the sonic reinvention, Paradise State of Mind marks a personal journey for Foster, who has faced significant changes in his life including sobriety and a deeper connection to himself. This transformation allowed him to create an album that celebrates the simplicity, spirituality and power of music as a vehicle for hope and healing while maintaining the pulsating energy that invites dance and celebration.
The Foster The People arrive at the Passeio Marítimo de Algés on July 12th, to climb the Heineken Stage of NOS Alive’25.
