Four Portuguese artists nominated for the Independent Music Awards
Portuguese musicians Susana China, Sandra Correia and André Barros and designer Mariana Seiça are among the nominees for the 17th Independent Music Awards, whose winners will be announced in June at a ceremony in New York.
[dropcap type=”background”]A[/dropcap]ccording to information available on the official website of the awards, singer and songwriter Susana China is named in the category of Jazz album with voice, with “Trapézio“, and fadista Sandra Correia competes in the category of Traditional Music album.
The pianist and composer André Barros competes in two categories of the song: Used in Advertising Campaign, with ‘Rising Melody’, and Used in Film / TV / Game, with ‘Leda’.
The designer Mariana Seiça is in competition in one of the design categories: Album Art / Photography, with the album ‘Trapézio’, by Susana China.
The annual Independent Music Awards and Independent Music Industry event celebrate “the best performers and their fans with ‘showcases’, performances, parties and awards in over a hundred categories of albums, EP, songs, video, production, photography and design. ”
The Independent Music Awards is a “global community of groundbreaking artists and engaged fans.”

The distinctions “honour the most exceptional music, video, concert photography and design by emerging and consecrated talents, and bind them to a wider audience.”
The winners of the 17th edition of the Independent Music Awards are announced June 22 at a ceremony in New York, United States of America.
