Time Out Global asked the magazine’s readers and editors to pick the best sites in their cities. The Foz area, in Porto, stood out among the more than 27 thousand participants as one of the coolest places in the world in 2021.
In fact, the “wide streets for running and cycling“, and the beaches, perfect for “walking with the family, surfing or relaxing alone“, are some of the best attributes of Foz do Porto, now recognized in the article International Time Out.
The publication also highlights that the westernmost part of Porto is a place where tradition and modernity come together, without canceling each other out. “New e concept stores continue to emerge, but Foz preserves its noble architecture, ancient monuments, historic bakeries and patisseries, grocery stores and traditional markets“, it can be read.
Foz occupies the 38th position in the ranking “The 49 coolest neighbourhoods in the world”, preceded in the 34th position by the Anjos district, in Lisbon.
Time Out Porto explains that, every year, Time Out Global readers and editors are invited to identify the perfect places to have fun, to enjoy the gastronomy, art and culture within their cities.
First on the 2021 global list comes Nørrebro, in Copenhagen (Denmark); soon after, the Andersonville neighborhood in Chicago (USA) occupies the second position; and in third place is Jongno 3-ga, in the South Korean city of Seoul.
27 thousand readers all over the world participated in the questionnaire, as well as several experts, including the editors of Time Out.
