FPDE becomes a member of ESIC

FPDE – Portuguese Federation of Electronic Sports becomes member of ESIC – ESports Integrity Coalition

This agreement will ensure that the FPDE will follow the ESIC Code of Ethics, as well as ensure that all future competitions to be organized or licensed by the FPDE will comply with the Anti-Corruption Code, the Code of Conduct for Players and Officers, and with the ESIC Anti-Doping Code.

Tiago Fernandes, President of FPDE, said that “this is another decisive step in fulfilling our mission to help the development of the Electronic Sports ecosystem in Portugal, in accordance with a fair and healthy sporting spirit, as a means of promoting integration and cultural interaction between practitioners and lovers of e-sport”.

The FPDE’s President also said that the company is establishing a National Competitive Calendar, which will be composed of a multitude of competitions in several games, “which will allow players, coaches, referees, and national clubs to have the confidence that they will participate in competitions. fair and transparent, where integrity and fair competition are ubiquitous, as well as true sportsmanship. This step will also allow us to reassure our business partners’ confidence in joining these competitions”.

Ian Smith, ESIC Commissioner, said, “It is with great pleasure that we welcome the FPDE as a member of ESIC. Its commitment to the development of the esports ecosystem in Portugal, focused on integrity, is very encouraging. We look forward to working with the FPDE team, to incorporating our Codes into their rules and regulations and supporting them with their education initiatives, to ensure that the next generation of athletes, coaches, officials and referees have all the necessary tools to succeed fairly and with sportsmanship”.

The Portuguese Federation of Electronic Sports (FPDE) was created in 2016 and aims to be the governing body of Electronic Sports in Portugal.
