European network gives voice to over 13,000 entities in the live performing arts sector. At the Pearle* – Live Performance Europe General Assembly, held on May 21 and 22 in Athens, a new Executive Committee and a new President were elected.
“We are delighted to announce that Francisca Carneiro Fernandes, representing PERFORMART – Associação para as Artes Cênicas in Portugal, has been elected President of Pearle*,” said the association’s board of directors.
In her speech, Francisca Carneiro Fernandes highlighted: “Culture and the performing arts bring empathy, connection and innovation to our societies. We have the data to prove that culture matters – now we need policies to match. I look forward to supporting Pearle* and our sector in the years to come.”
This election represents not only recognition of the work developed by PERFORMART at a national level, but also the strengthening of the Portuguese presence in European forums for the defense and promotion of the performing arts.
